Dr. Iris Ulbricht is an aerospace engineer and artist living and working in Rangsdorf and Werder (Havel). Born and raised in West-Berlin during the cold war she graduated in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics and wrote her PhD in Aerospace Engineering. She worked in Brussels, Switzerland and Germany in Research and Development in various management positions in the international turbomachinery industry. Since approximately 2014 her focus changed considerably towards realistic painting. She studied the literature, attended training courses in different art schools and worked closely with selected teachers following a self-determined curriculum. Since 2019 she has been exhibiting and teaching. Her work is diverse, however all her paintings and drawings touch base with the four recurring themes, riddle, dream, illusion and space.
